Description
Pitcher? Rounded body. Bands of dense grooving of varying height.
Fabric, firing, surface
Interior surface (3-4 mm): dull brownish gray. Exterior surface (2-3 mm): brownish red. Medium hard, medium fine; mostly smooth break. Tiny to small, rare, well sorted, tabular white (calcareous) bits; very rare, tiny dark (gray), angular bits; very rare flecks of golden mica. Very thin, even, matte slip on exterior, reddish brownish gray.
Preservation description
Two nonjoining sherds (a/b) from body. Slight, extensive abrasion and slight erosion; worn breaks; frequent specks to patches of thick, rough encrustation. Weathering from prolonged marine submersion.
