AgoraXXXII, p. 216, no. 936 (P 8904), with stamped palmettes that are not present on the Kenchreai vessel.
Conservation
1960s: large part of wall and both handles reconstructed in white plaster.
Description
Carinated bowl. Ring foot, splayed; grooved on outside face. High incurved rim with plain lip. Recurved handles.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fine fabric discolored to light pink by marine exposure. Slip worn in large patches but remains gray overall. Wear emphasizes a large drip on exterior; slip is worn variably on outer face of rim and just below carination, probably from differential finishing.
Preservation comment
One large sherd preserves ca. 40% of rim, roughly one half of body with full profile, entire base, and portions of both ends of one of the handles (one end more extensively preserved). One large calcareous chunk visible towards the base on the outer surface. Slip and fabric discolored by marine exposure.
