Description
Plate with nearly vertical rim, slight flange, and very low ring foot. Rim has rounded upper lip and rouletting on its outer face; it is marked off from the floor on exterior by flange with single groove on upper face and two grooves below. More rounded transition from rim to floor on interior. Low ring foot distinctly tooled from sloping wall and floor, particularly on outer edge.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric is softened and discolored by marine exposure. Frequent glistening micaceous bits are visible in direct sunlight.
Preservation comment
One sherd preserves 20-25% of rim and floor. Extensive but variable erosion and abrasion acorss surface, lightly pitted, and discolored. Scattered small patches of encrustation on floor. Weathering consistent with long marine submersion.
