Fabric, firing, and surface description
Material obscured by weathering: orange fabric with medium brown slip; variable firing toward base; fine, smooth(?) break; uncommon, well sorted, tiny, mixed bits (light and dark); common, tiny sparkles (micaceous?) on all surfaces; thin, even slip on exterior and bottom, not interior, peeling in small flakes.
Preservation comment
Two joining sherds preserve large part of mostly lower part of vessel, up past widest part of body. Soft and powdery surface, moderate pitting and scratching, consistent with marine submersion over long period; worn breaks; white film (saline) over most surfaces.
