Conservation
1960s: sherd refitted with shellac and infilled with white plaster painted gray. Incorrect placement of sherds and asymmetrical reconstruction.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Material obscured by weathering; buff fabric and pale orange(?) slip fired to dark brown on interior(?); fine; rare, tiny, well sorted, mostly light (lime) and rare dark bits (including very rare angular gray); densely sparkling surface (micaceous). Slip covers whole vessel down to slip.
Preservation comment
Six joining fragments preserve ca. 60% of vessel, including full profile. Extensive, moderate to severe pitting, flaking and erosion consistent with marine submersion over a long period; worn breaks.
