Description
Alabastron. Cylindrical, slightly rounded body and flat base (though with slight concave dimple at center). Transition from wall to base is not very sharp, though there is some wear from use and chipping. Wall thickness taken at thickest point on break.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fine very pale reddish fabric (2.5YR 8/4) with occasional dark angular chunks and less frequent lime, some varied small bits, one very large small-grained quartz(?) chunk on surface. Exterior surface more pale than fabric with thin wash; interior lined with thin pitch.
Preservation comment
One sherd preserves wall from below shoulder and entire base. Slight to moderate, somewhat extensive abrasion and pitting; worn breaks.
