Amphora. Spike toe with prominent ring. Ring is tooled at upper edge so that it is sharply marked from spike; lower face of rim has rounded profile. Very tip of toe is hollow with small irregular opening (max. dimension 5 mm).
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Pale red fabric with medium to small, angular, and tiny, subrounded, white lime and much less common tiny darker bits; occasional golden micaceous flakes. Surface has thin wash, lighter than fabric.
Preservation comment
One sherd preserves entire low and adjacent wall. Slight, somewhat extensive abrasion with minor gouging and chipping; worn breaks; thin patches of black encrustation.
