Description
Circular outline. Circular discus with raised band rim, grooved on both sides, around slightly concave discus with figural relief: thrax striding left, wearing crested helmet and carrying small, rounded buckler (parmula) on left arm; type has usual garb but holding long-hafted weapon (spear?) in lowered left hand. Slightly rounded shoulder has large, quadrate ovules. Tall, narrow, pierced handle has two grooves.
Preservation comment
Four joining sherds preserve ca. 20% of discus, ca. 25% of left lateral to back shoulder, and upper handle. Moderate surface abrasion and flaking removes irregular patches of slip and outer surface; worn breaks.
