Thick walls in circular outline. Shoulder with rounded rim has broad groove with dense row of alternating dotted hearts pointed outward (Bussière-Rivel Jc 6/7) and dotted lambdas (Bussière-Rivel Cg 28-31?) in high relief. Very low, narrow, solid handle.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric: 10R 5/6, red. Slip: 2.5YR 5/8 red. Fabric is within range of typical ARS Hayes II lamp, but noteworthy presence of small, very rare, subangular to angular, black and white rocky inclusions and very rare, small, angular voids. Semiglossy, fine, somewhat uneven slip is peeling and slightly patchy. Thick, uneven clay on interior at seam.
One large fragment preserves less than one-quarter of shoulder and entire base. Slight to moderate abrasion, slight, sparse pitting, and slight cracking across rim; slight, extensive encrustion.
