Type Atlante X tardif=Bonifay lampe type 69 (‟décors estompés”)
Description
Thick walls in circular outline. Discus has raised, rounded framing ring. Shoulder has wide, shallow groove with alternating triple targets (Bussière-Rivel Da 17?) and layered triangles (Bussière-Rivel Cb 2-4?). Low, thick, solid handle extends to base ring. Circular base ring. Somewhat careless, heavy manufacturing from blunt mold.
Fabric, firing, surface
Fabric: 2.5YR 5/4, reddish brown. Slip: 2.5YR 5/8, red, with a tinge of orange; consistently fired. Hard, fine, with smooth break. Semiglossy, thick, somewhat even slip shows incipient peeling. Thick, uneven clay around seam on interior. Central Tunisian cf. ARS C ware.
Four joining fragments preserve roughly one third of shoulder, entire handle, and one quarter of base. Slight, sparse abrasion especially on top of handle.
