Shoulder tapers in even slope from wide body. Nearly vertical, cylindrical rim, demarcated below by slight bulge, with plain lip slightly thickened outward to a point. Two small ring handles, oval to rectangular in section, with sharp groove on top that opens into trough at top and bottom, attach at shoulder. Fine, sharp ridges up shoulder to articulation with rim. Slight excess clay on exterior rim.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Coarse orange to pale brown fabric with frequent light angular sandy inclusions and occasional large white (lime) chunks, a few opening at surface; some small voids. Northern Palestinian: Caesarea.
Preservation comment
Three joining sherds (275a+b+1322) preserving complete rim, both handles, and large part of shoulder. Clean breaks; slight, rare abrasion; slight, extensive specks to film of encrustation. Surface encrusted with patches of ash, slightly lighter than fabric where visible.
