Description
Roughly worked bottom surface. Plain, square plinth (H. 0.032) under single torus (H. 0.019) under cavetto with angular frame (0.025) under three tori, the first and third squared (H. 0.042 m). Shaft has clean spiral fluting (W. 0.020 m), tapers slightly upward. Overall finely carved. Form not related to KTH277 or surviving colonettes from second-storey of peristyle.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
White, somewhat fine to somewhat medium-grained, crystalline marble with faint bluish streaks. Proconnesian?
Preservation comment
One large fragment preserves ca. 66% of base and part of lower shaft. Slight to moderate, sparse abrasion and chipping; thick film of encrustation.
