Late Roman-Early Byzantine Cooking Pot
Description
Globular cooking pot wityh mostly flat bottom. Broken around wheel ridging inside and turn at lowermost wall; not a cut stopper.
Fabric, firing, surface
Reddish orange, fired to mottled grayish brown one exterior surface (1mm). Common, well sorted, light and dark bits; rare, subangular, red and light gray inclusions; common tiny flecks of golden mica. Western Asia Minor.
Preservation comment
One sherd preserves most of stopper but missing ca. 60% of margin. Slight, extensive abrasion; worn breaks; scattered specks of encrustation.
