Late Roman Amphora 4
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Medium coarse fabric, hard, is inconsistently fired from light reddish-brown to grey with frequent small dark rounded inclusions and occasional medium light angular inclusions; other tiny bits; several medium to large dark and light angular inclusions embedded in exterior surface. Interior is grey with light brush marks; exterior is light reddish-brown with ridging.
Preservation comment
One sherd preserves entire toe and small part of lower body. Moderate, extensive abrasion; worn breaks; extensive, irregular patches of encrustation.
