Late Roman Cooking Ware
Description
Everted, slightly concave on top forming ledge for lid; rounded inner and outer edges; no offset from wall. Convex upper body.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Granular fabric has light grey core and is brownish red towards surface; frequent small to medium light subangular inclusions with occasional small dark bits; inclusions evident on all extant surfaces. Inner surface is pale brown, outer surface is brownish-red; occasional micaceous flecks. Light brush marks on outer surface.
Preservation comment
One sherd preserves 8% of rim and small part of neck. Slight, sparse abrasion with chipping around edge; worn breaks; rare specks of encrustation.
