Description
Cooking-ware lid. Domed body. Wall pulled up at peak into low truncoconical handle; rounded knob on top. Symmetrical and well made.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Reddish brown but light brown toward exterior surface; slightly coarse, hard, with hackly break; frequent, well sorted, small, subrounded and angular, mostly light and fewer dark inclusions, with rare larger chunks embedded in surface; frequent golden (and silvery?) mica. Western Asia Minor.
Preservation comment
One large sherd preserves entire knob and part of upper body. Slight, extensive abrasion and sparse gouging; worn breaks; rough patches of encrustation especially on handle.
