Description
Large, shallow plate. Short flaring ring foot, rounded on outer edge of resting surface. Straight wall; slightly concave floor without chamfer. Three concentric grooves on floor just inside attachment of foot.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Slightly granular fabric fired to deep red. Thick matte slip on extant interior; extant exterior plain. African D fabric.
Preservation comment
Two joining sherds (1017+1003) preserve 15% of base and small part of floor and wall. Slight, extensive abrasion and slight chipping around edges; moderate specks to patches of encrustation.
