Description
Jug. Well-made low foot projecting from line of wall, with squared outer profile and broad concave underside.
Fabric, firing, surface
Nearly fine, hard fabric, red with a tinge of yellow, fired to pale brown at outside surface (1-4mm); occasional, small, angular, calcareous inclusions; rare red bits; surface probably more brown though discolored by burning. Regional; cf. buff utilitarian fabric.
Preservation comment
One sherd preserves 12% of base and small part of lower wall. Faint abrasion and scratching around edge; faint, thin film of encrustation.
