Description
Large Corinthian bowl, perhaps a semi-glazed mastos. Low ring foot with slightly flaring profile terminating in bevel. Concave underside. Wheelmade scratches on exterior, wheel ridges on interior. Hellenistic.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fine, moderately hard clay with many tiny voids and some white and black inclusions. Fugitive semi-lustrous glaze, fired reddish-brown on interior.
Preservation comment
One fragment preserves one third of base and small part of lower wall. Slight to moderate chipping and gouging around edges; specks of encrustation.
