Description
Pitcher. Cylindrical neck, slightly convex in middle, with two distinct grooves. Everted rim, set off below by sharp groove, with slightly convex outer face and point lip. Loop handle attaches against upper neck and rim.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Light red core fired slightly more brown toward surfaces; fine to gritty, hard, with smooth to slightly granular break; uncommon, well sorted, small to rarely medium, rounded and subrounded, lime inclusions; rare, small, angular, dark gray to black bits; few irregular voids at surface; faintly golden micaceous. Corinthian buff utilitarian fabric.
Preservation comment
One sherd preserves ca. 18% of rim and middle to upper neck with upper handle attachment. Slight, somewhat extensive abrasion, pitting, and scoring; worn breaks; little to no encrustation.
