Handmade lid from pitcher. Circular disk with undulating surfaces; edges curve downward and hook inward. Horizontal loop handle attaches to top; would have hinged on vertical loop at top of pitcher.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
in the range of variation of southeast Lycian cooking ware: light brown fabric with a tinge of pink, same color throughout; unslipped and unpainted; slightly fine and smooth texture but cooking ware, hard, hackly break; common, fine grit (angular lime particles and varied light and dark bits); slightly golden micaceous.
Preservation comment
One sherd preserves 60% of lid with handle attachment but edges broken. Very slight, sparse abrasion and chipping around edge; clean breaks; rare specks of encrustation.
