Description
Large vertical loop handle, with distinctive section: almost quadrangular, with deep, wide indentation running longitudinally to created two triangular ridges, faintly grooved on outside.
Fabric, firing, surface
Yellowish brown fabric fired darker, slightly more reddish at surface; very hard, slightly coarse, with hackly break; uncommon, small, subangular and elongated, black inclusions (basalt?) and other, tiny, white bits; two, medium, rounded voids from manufacture. Ras al-Bassit.
Preservation comment
One sherd preserves segment from one handle. Slight to moderate, extensive abrasion with large chips around edges; worn breaks; thin, extensive encrustation.
