Wide, cylindrical neck tapers to sharp angle, from which beck flares up to thick, overhanging rim with vertical exterior face and flat top.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric: 2.5YR 6/6, orange. Slip: 2.5Y 5/4, pale yellow but tending to white. Hard, granular fabric, consistently fired, with infrequent to frequent, tiny, angular, light (quartz?), black, and red inclusions, rare, medium, elongated, “calcitic” inclusions, and rare, angular, red rocky bits. Tunisian fabric. Thin, even, matte, granular slip with saline content brushed on all exterior and over rim but apparently not on interior.
Preservation comment
One large fragment preserves roughly one quarter of rim and upper neck. Moderate, extensive chipping and scoring; slight patches of black discoloration from postdepositional scorching.
