Description
Tall conical spike with small button toe, concave on bottom. Faint spiral grooving on exterior.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Pale orangish red, consistently fired; slightly coarse, very hard, with granular break and rough gritty texture; frequent, well sorted, tiny to small, added sand (mostly light, calcareous and quartzitic, rarely red or brown and gray) and very rare, medium, amorphous lime chunks, visible at surface; tiny sparkling bits. Surface smoothed?
Preservation comment
One large sherd preserves entire toe up to lowermost body. Slight, sparse abrasion with slight scoring and chipping; somewhat worn breaks; faint, thin, widespread patches of encrustation.
