- Button base. Fabric is consistently fired to “brick red”, with frequent medium to small angular light ”calcitic” inclusions; rare vary large lime chunks exploding on interior surface (two observed). Above toe surface is fired pale. All very standard for N. African amphoras, which are rare at Kenchreai.
