Two objects from the same container were mistakenly assigned the same inventory number, this amphora and an LRA2 body sherd with dipinto. The LRA2 sherd was re-assigned as KTH2359.
Amphora with vertical bifid handles, rounded in section.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Pale orange to buff but variable firing, with more pale surface. Fine, hard fabric with smooth break. Fine sandy (white to dark gray); frequent specks to visible flakes of silver mica. Southwest Asia Minor?
Preservation comment
Three joining sherd preserve half of one bifid handle that has separated. Slight to moderate, extensive abrasion and sparse, moderate chipping and gouging; very worn breaks; scattered specks of encrustation. Smaller handle sherd shows large patches of black discoloration across surface from postdepositional burning.
