Two objects from the same container were mistakenly assigned the same inventory number, this probable Hellenistic Rhodian amphora and an LRA2 body sherd with dipinto. The LRA2 sherd was re-assigned as KTH2359.
Amphora or large jug with vertical handles, mostly rounded in section. Probably Rhodian.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Slightly granular light fabric, pale surface, with frequent small glistening bits.
Preservation comment
Three fragments, two joining, preserve roughly 66% of one handle and 33% of another handle. Slight to moderate, extensive abrasion and sparse, moderate chipping and gouging; very worn breaks; scattered specks of encrustation. Smaller handle sherd shows large patches of black discoloration across surface from postdepositional burning.
