Bowl. Flaring, convex wall ends in plain, rounded lip. Slight grooves on exterior below lip and at bottom of fragment. Inner face tapers just below lip and bears two more tooled grooves, more pronounced than on exterior.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Pale brown with a tinge of pink. Fine, somewhat soft; somewhat granular break, with a bumpy surface texture. Uncommon to common, small, subrounded, lime inclusions; uncommon tiny voids. Red to reddish brown slip, mottled, matte and thin, peeling everywhere in small flakes. Faint turning marks on exterior. Athenian.
Preservation comment
One fragment preserves small part of rim and upper wall. Slight, sparse abrasion and pitting; specks of encrustation. Patch of secondary scorching on exterior.
