Description
Convex body. Painted design of vertical lines in two groups that suggest end of curving parallel lines. Turning ridges. The construction of this piece is slightly heavier than the more common LRA5 in assemblage; fabric slightly cleaner and denser, and ridging is slightly flatter.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Reddish fabric, granular, with frequent varied tiny “sandy” inclusions, occasional round lime and angular quartz, and frequent tiny reddish and black bits; irregular voids observed at surface. Consistently fired to slightly darker red at surface. Thin, somewhat even, matte paint is yellowish white.
Preservation comment
Two joining sherds (KTH1923+KTH2027) preserve part of middle body. Slight to moderate, extensive erosion, pitting, and abrasion; moderate to heavy wear along edges; scattered specks of encrustation.
