Description
Small cup with heavy features. Short ring base, squarish and blocky, rounded on outer face, with offset on interior. Flaring lower wall. Slipped on interior and exterior including base.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Material typical for regional ware: buff to pale brown fabric; reddish slip with a tinge of orange; fine, slightly soft fabric with smooth break; rare lime specks and very faintly micaceous; semimatte slip of variable thickness, peeling extensively in small flakes.
Preservation comment
One sherd preserves roughly one third of base and small part of lower wall. Slight abrasion and chipping; worn breaks.
