JLR: intermediate form between Kenchreai RC22 (“Ikarian“) and Ephesus 56.
Description
Small amphora. Sloping shoulder; high, narrow neck. Oval strap handles.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric and firing normal for form.
Preservation comment
One large sherds preserves ca. 30% of one shoulder with lower neck and handle. Moderate extensive abrasion, pitting, and chipping around worn edges; thin, extensive encrustation in patches and etching in places.
