Late Roman/Early Byzantine Corinthian or Regional Lamp, imitation North African
Description
Wide tear-shaped(?) outline. Thick walls. Circular ring base with low ridge extending to base of handle. Small divot inside base and possible raised decoration?
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Typical Late Roman Corinthian red lamp fabric.
Preservation comment
One large fragment preserves entire base and roughly one half of lower walls up to seem. Slight, sparse abrasion and chiping; moderate, extensive encrustation.
