Typological identification
Late Roman Amphora 2
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Micaceous variant of standard LRA2 Southern Argolid fabric, with typical firing and surface treatment: pale brownish red fabric fired pale yellow at surface (1mm); slightly gritty, with mostly medium, subrounded, lime chunks; two long impressions of burned out chaff or stemmed plant(?) on interior rim; marks from wet smoothing of thin wash on exterior rim.
Preservation comment
One sherd preserves 10% of rim and small part of uppermost neck. Slight, somewhat extensive abrasion and minor chipping; worn breaks; irregular, thin patch of encrustation on exterior.
