Description
Bowl. Curving wall. Hanging rim, rounded over top and flattened on underside, with hook at wall. Sharp ridge on interior below rim. Short, thin, transverse lines incised across of lip; row of thin, vertical lines incised on exterior beneath rim; lower band of doubled, thin, vertical lines incised down side of vessel to top of base.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Buff fabric with a tinge of pink. Hard, fine; smooth break. Rare to uncommon, small to medium, subrounded, lime inclusions; rare, small, subangular, grey and red particles. Orangish red, thin, matte slip on interior and exterior, thinning over rim and upper wall. Regional.
Preservation comment
Two joining sherds (2250+2260) preserve 10% of rim and small part of body down to articulation with base. Slight to moderate, somewhat extensive abrasion and slightly chipping along edges; worn breaks; specks to small patches of encrustation.
