Bowl. Curving wall. Hanging rim, rounded over top and somewhat flattened on underside. Sharp offset, almost a ridge, ridge on interior below rim. Faint, very thin guidelines for rouletted decoration: row of bulging, vertical lines incised on exterior below rim; lower, taller band of doubled, thin, vertical lines arched over top (like gadroons) incised down side of vessel toward top of base.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Buff fabric with a tinge of pink. Hard, fine; smooth break. Rare to uncommon, small to medium, subrounded, lime inclusions; rare, small, subangular, grey and red particles. Orangish red with a tinge of brown, thin, matte slip on interior and exterior, thinning over rim and upper wall. Regional.
Preservation comment
Two joining sherds (2250+2260) preserve 10% of rim and small part of body down to articulation with base. Slight to moderate, somewhat extensive abrasion and slightly chipping along edges; worn breaks; specks to small patches of encrustation.
