Eastern Sigillata C
Description
Cup. Vertical rim with pointed lip and squared flange at bottom. Conical body curves up to flange. Slipped on all surfaces.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fine, hard, orange fabric with rare, tiny, light bits. Thin, matte, reddish orange slip, semimatte, on all extant surfaces, somewhat darker than fabric, slightly mottled and peeling. Not typical fabric from area of Pergamon: Knidian?
Preservation comment
One sherd preserves 7% of rim and small part of upper body. Slight, sparse abrasion; worn breaks; sparse specks of encrustation.
