Dressel 23 Amphora
Description
Amphora with short, concave neck and heavy, thickened, overhanging rim with convex outer face and pointed lip.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Light brown. Gritty fabric with granular break, rough surface; frequent, medium to very small, mixed dark, gray, and red angular and tabular inclusions and less frequent, angular quartz. Surface has slightly more pale, thin wash.
Preservation comment
One sherd preserves 25% of rim and part of upper neck. Somewhat sparse, extensive abrasion and scoring; worn breaks; thin, extensive encrustation.
