Description
Knob of a pyxis lid or similar. Projecting rim of knob has flat upper surface and sloping side, attached to trace of neck. Black glaze on outside of knob; trace of concentric band on upper surface. Archaic.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fine, reddish buff, moderately hard clay with some tiny voids and few inclusions. Thin, dull, very fugitive to flaky black glaze.
Preservation comment
One small sherd from lid(?). Severe, extensive abrasion and chipping on all surfaces; specks of encrustation.
