Description
Pitcher with round mouth. Rim flares upward from central opening (not preserved) and terminates in upturned lip with flat outer edge. Handle, circular to oval in section, rises and curves to level of rim, and is attached by pressing clay of handle to underside of rim. Fine brushstrokes from smoothing inside mouth.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric: 2.5YR 6/8. Surface consistently fired: 2.5YR 5/2. Fine, hard, gritty clay with rare, small, rounded, white to yellow and numerous tiny inclusions. Regional product.
Preservation comment
One sherd preserves ca. 30% of rim, small part of upper neck, and upper one-third of handle. Slight chipping and gouging; worn edges.
