Typological identification comment
Aegean type (“urnetta a collarino“).
Description
Globular body; rounded shoulder. Flat, shallow band with sharp edges (“collarino“) at articulation of shoulder and rim. Everted to outwardly curving rim with rounded lip. Vertical strap handle attaches against shoulder and rim.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
2.5YR 6/6, light red (core and interior surface); 2.5YR 4/1, dark reddish gray to darker (exterior surface). Fine, hard fabric with frequent, medium, subangular, lime inclusions often visible on surface; faint sparkles of silvery mica. Unslipped. Eastern Thin-Walled ware.
Preservation comment
One sherd preserves ca. 20% of rim, small part of upper body, and upper attachment of handle. Slight, sparse abrasion and chipping around edges; scattered specks of encrustation.
