Typological identification
Early/Middle Roman Corinthian copy/imitation of Asia Minor Lamp
Description
Steeply sloping wall. Circular base with wide, low base ring. Corinthian imitation of Asia Minor lamp (note color of slip and form of base).
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Corinthian fabric: pale buff, fine, soft; slightly more gritty and with more voids than usual. Slip: reddish brown with tinge of yellow where thing. Thin, somewhat uneven, semimatte slip, mottled and flaking in small bits, covers exterior and base.
Preservation comment
One fragment preserves less than one quarter of wall and base. Slight, sparse abrasion.
