Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric shows a hard, fine matrix with a smooth to slightly granular break, pale grayish brown at the core and yellowish brown at the surface (Th. 1-3 mm), faintly micaceous, with poorly sorted inclusions: uncommon to common, mostly small to occasionally medium, angular and subangular, white limestone chunks; rare, medium-sized, subangular, pale to orangish particles; rare, small to medium, irregular, opaque pale to gray (quartzitic? and other minerals); and scattered tiny light red, orange, and brown grits. The surface has a thin wash in the same color as the clay that has been smoothed.
