Common form of small bowl (Hayes 98C/108), though carination and relatively thin wall leans toward 108=Bonifay2004 Sigillée types 58/59 (7th c.)
Description
Bowl. Ring foot; slightly carinated.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Deep red fabric is coarse with frequent angular, light, sandy bits. Slip is thick and glossy, brushed on interior surface, fired to same color as fabric; thinner and flaking in patches on exterior.
Preservation comment
One sherd preserves small part of lower wall with only slightest bit of turn to base. Slight sparse abrasion and chipping to flaking around edges; somewhat worn breaks.
