Description
Shallow plate with splayed ring foot, somewhat convex to very low conical bottom, and vertical, concave rim, sometimes slightly flaring and flanged below, often sharply. Floor often adorned with one or more circles of rouletting and central stampes. Similar to Zhuravlev Form 1 but always on average deeper. Zhuravlev separates the common shallow plate in Pontic Sigillata (=Hayes Form 1) into several morphologically distinct types, including his Forms 2.1.1, 2.1.2, and 2.2.
