Description
Circular, concave discus has relief of scallop shell, raised rim, and prominent, flat framing ring. Flat, plain shoulder with rounded rim. Volute nozzle.
Fabric, firing, surface
Fabric: 2.5YR 6/4, light reddish brown. Slip: 2.5YR 5/4, reddish brown (slightly darker in places). Hard, fine, slightly porous fabric with uniform consistency and scattered small white to dull yellow inclusions. Somewhat thick, even, semilustrous slip. Knidian.
Preservation description
Four fragments, three joining, preserve ca. 75% of discus and 50% of shoulder. Slight, sparse erosion with minor pitting; somewhat worn breaks; sparse patches of encrustation.
