Description
Circular, flat discus has design in low relief, small hole right, wide and straight channel to wickhole with framed, raised circle incised with chi, and sharp, raised rim. Design is Latin cross with flaring arms, fine checkered or woven pattern, and triple raised circles at corners. Shoulder has sunken panel with raised crosshatching and rounded rim. Long nozzle; traces of burning.
Fabric, firing, surface
Typical fabric, firing, and surface treatment for ware. Fabric: 2.5YR 7/6, light red. Slip: 10R 5/8, red. Hard, smooth, fine fabric. Thick, even, dull slip preserved in patches.
Preservation description
One fragment preserves 25% of shoulder and small part of discus and nozzle. Slightly worn breaks; irregular patches of encrustation.
