Description
Circular, flat discus has design in low relief, small hole right, wide and straight channel to wickhole with framed, raised circle incised with chi, and sharp, raised rim. Design is Latin cross with flaring arms, fine checkered or woven pattern, and triple raised circles at corners. Shoulder has sunken panel with raised crosshatching and rounded rim. Slight joining ridge. Long nozzle; traces of burning.
Fabric, firing, surface
Fabric: 2.5YR 7/6, light red. Slip: 10R 5/8, red. Hard, smooth, fine fabric. Thick, even, dull slip preserved in patches.
Preservation comment
One fragment preserves one-quarter of shoulder and small part of discus and nozzle. Traces of encrustation.
