Description
Circular outline. Circular(?) discus has raised rim and single framing ring. Slightly rounded and slightly sloping shoulder has five uneven rows of small globules. This type has long, rounded nozzle with band of tongues across top. Slight webbing. Narrow, solid handle with two grooves above and fishtail below. Raised base ring.
Fabric, firing, surface
Fabric: 10R 7/4, pale red. Slip: 2.5YR 5/4, reddish brown. Slightly soft, fine, slightly micaceous fabric with rare to very few, very small, subrounded, white (calcareous) inclusions. Thin, even, semilustrous slip. Ephesian?
Preservation description
One large fragment preserves <25% of shoulder, entire handle, and ca. 33% of base and right wall. Slight abrasion; slight, extensive encrustation on shoulder. Secondary scorching on handle.

Explanation of deposition
Intrusive in upper fill inside water tank. Represents Late Roman/Early Byzantine use of north area of building (see Deposit B9).
