Description
Lekane or shallow bowl. Horizontal projecting rim with squared lip; shallow groove on upper face near lip. Glazed upper rim and interior; unglazed exterior.
Fabric, firing, surface
Fabric: 5YR 6/6, reddish yellow. Slip: 2.5YR 4/3, reddish brown, to 2.5YR 2.5/1, reddish black. Somewhat soft, fine fabric with frequent, very small mica and black inclusions. Thin, dull glaze, flaky, varying in color from burnt red to dark brownish red or black. Attic.
Preservation description
One small fragment preserves <25% of rim and small part of upper body. Slight, sparse abrasion with minor pitting and scoring; worn breaks; thin, widespread film of encrustation.
