Description
Attic wheelmade lekane or shallow bowl. Horizontal projecting rim with squared lip; shallow groove on upper face near lip. Glazed upper rim and interior; unglazed exterior.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric: 5YR 6/6, reddish yellow. Slip: 2.5YR 4/3, reddish brown, to 2.5YR 2.5/1, reddish black. Somewhat soft, fine fabric with frequent, very small mica and black inclusions. Thin, dull glaze, flaky, varying in color from burnt red to dark brownish red or black.
Preservation comment
One small fragment preserves <25% of rim and small part of upper body. Slight abrasion and pitting; thin traces of encrustation.
