Description
Bowl. Shallow ring foot, not stepped, slipped on resting surface. Groove at articulation of foot and wall; three narrow grooves above on wall. Heavy rim, slightly tilted inward; broad top; protruding flange, undercut. Large stamp in center of floor: male figure facing forward (but moving right?) with left arm raised in salute, clothed in long-sleeved tunic and cape (LRP pp. 346-347, 349: early Group III, late 5th-early 6th century).
Fabric, firing, surface
Fabric: 10R 6/8, light red. Slip: 10R 5/8, red. Material typical for ware.
Preservation description
Nine large joining fragments preserve ca. 50% of base with part of stamp on floor, body and rim, including full profile. Slight abrasion and chipping; slight, sparse encrustation.
