Description
Convex body: jug or pitcher? Curvature suggests fragment from shoulder. Exterior has white slip painted broadly in two lines and a loop and yellow glaze.
Fabric, firing, surface
Fabric: 2.5YR 5/8, red. Slip: white. Glaze: yellow (PMS 1345). Hard, medium-coarse fabric with frequent, small, rounded, white (lime) inclusions and small, angular, gold sparkling inclusions; frequent, small, angular voids. Very thick, even, dull slip. Thick, even, semilustrous glaze shows crazing.
Preservation description
One fragment preserves small part of upper(?) body. Slight, very sparse abrasion with scattered pitting and gouging; worn breaks; frequent specks of encrustation.
